We are a team of dedicated college students that are working to design, build, and race an off-road vehicle. Every year, we start a new design and build process, ending in an intense competition at the start of summer. The competition itself is a multiple day event, where every car goes through individual tests, such as rock crawls, tractor pulls, and maneuverability courses. The main event is a grueling four hour race where one hundred cars are set loose on a huge motocross course, and the car with the most laps wins. The course is designed to push both car and driver to the limit, breaking them down, and testing the ingenuity and teamwork of the pit crew.
When we look at the car, we can look at it with pride, knowing that every component on it that we were capable of building ourselves, we did. The frame is welded, bent, and notched by us, the body panels are hand-carved in foam and composites laid by hand, and our transmission was specially designed and built by our team.
Every year, we work very hard to produce a top tier car. Hours are put in by the team, in the shop and outside of it, every week. Our team runs as a business, with a shop division, public relations division, and business division. Each branch has a specific set of goals, each branch working for the team.
